Donald Trump on Friday admitted that he did not see a video of plane carrying $400 million to Iran.

On Thursday, Trump repeated his claim that he had seen footage of an American shipment of cash to Iran. “A tape was made, you saw that, with the airplane coming in, nice plane. The airplane coming in and the money coming off,” Trump told supporters at a rally in Portland, Maine.

“That was given to us, has to be, by the Iranians. And you know why the tape was given to us? They want to embarrass our country, embarrass our president.”

Government officials told several news outlets that they did not believe footage of the January delivery of $400 million to Iran exists.

Trump campaign spokeswoman told The Washington Post that Trump was referring to b-roll footage that Fox News showed while discussing the story. Hopes said the footage was from Geneva and not Tehran.
