Hillary Clinton leads Donald Trump by 3 points according to the a new national poll from Rasmussen.
Clinton takes 43 percent while Trump takes 40 percent, Libertarian nominee Gary Johnson takes 8 percent, Green Party nominee Jill Stein takes 2 percent.
The Rasmussen poll finds that Clinton’s lead comes from support among her own party. She receives support from 82 percent of Democrats while Trump is supported by 74 percent of Republicans.
The RealClearPolitics average of national polls shows Clinton hold a 7 point lead nationally in the 4-way match-up. An average by The New York Times finds Clinton with a 7 point lead in a head-to-head match-up.
The Rasmussen poll of 1,000 likely voters was conducted August 9-10 and has a 3 percentage point margin of error.
