White House chief of staff General John Kelly dismissed rumors he’s close to leaving or being fired by President Trump.
“I’m not quitting today,” he told reporters during the White House press briefing. “I just talked to the president. I don’t think I’m being fired today. And I’m not so frustrated in this job that I’m thinking of leaving.”
Kelly also blasted the media for how much news is misreported, “When I watch TV in the morning, it is astounding to me how much is misreported. I will give you the benefit of the doubt that you are operating off of contacts, leaks whatever you call them. But I would just offer you the advice — maybe develop some better sources.”
Trump took to twitter on Thursday to blast media reports this week that he was close to firing Gen. Kelly, or that he was close to quitting.
Trump appointed Kelly as chief of staff in July, moving him from his position as the head of the Department of Homeland Security.
